D-backs for Change
Mission
D-backs for Change is an Arizona Diamondbacks’ business and community initiative that seeks to level the playing field for our Team Players and community members by: (i) making an unequivocal commitment to improving organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion, and putting a robust plan in place and taking the necessary steps to do so; and (ii) seeking to improve the lives of those who have been and continue to be disadvantaged as a result of systemic social injustice, such as racism, sexism, homophobia and discrimination of all kinds.
D-backs for Change Council
The D-backs for Change initiative is led by the D-backs for Change Council, which is comprised of well-respected Team Players who reflect a balanced representation of the business, as well as those who represent a broad range of internal affinity groups. Council members provide insight and information that is reflected in the organization and beyond, and work side-by-side with the organization’s leadership to ensure alignment of the organization’s business, cultural, community and diversity and inclusion strategies.

We back the Hispanic Community
The Arizona Diamondbacks celebrate our Latino fans, players and team players throughout the year, and annually host Hispanic Heritage Day each season. This September will mark the 22nd Los D-backs Hispanic Heritage Day celebration where the team will recognize an individual for their advocacy, leadership and service to the Arizona community with the Pete Garcia Los D-backs Hispanic Leadership Award.
We back the LGBTQ+ Community
The Arizona Diamondbacks are proud to support LGBTQ+ programs and events. Since 2017 the team has celebrated D-backs Pride Night annually and support and participate in LGBTQ+ programs and events year-round, including Phoenix Pride, One Community Foundation, One-n-ten, Latino Pride Alliance and Media Out Loud.
We back the Native American Community
Saturday, June 1, 2019 marked the D-backs' 21st Native American Recognition Day in partnership with Gila River Hotels & Casinos and annual Inter-tribal Youth Baseball & Softball Tournament.
We back Women
The D-backs support women and girls as well as the challenges and issues that are unique to women. We’ll continue to provide resources and implement programs to inspire and empower women and promote equality.
We back Working Parents
The Arizona Diamondbacks support working parents! The Working Parents Team Player Resource Group is a communication space for working parents at the Arizona Diamondbacks to share their experience and get tips for navigating a career and family life with kids. The group offers suggestions to the organization to help drive company policy for issues surrounding working parents.
We back the Diversibility Community
Together the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation have worked to integrate into diverse communities to ensure we are providing the best experience possible for people of all abilities so they can experience Chase Field to the fullest. This success is not only due to being recognized as one of the most fan friendly team in all of sports but is because of the real commitment the Arizona Diamondbacks have to our culture of performance and excellence in every aspect of our operations both inside the ballpark and connections to the diverse communities we serve.
